T.E.A.M - everybody achieves more?
Eventually, the success of a manager really depends on their team and how they interact and support each other. In business, your people will be required to work in teams if success is to be achieved. Each team member must be valued and understand exactly what is required within their discipline. Otherwise, you end up with S.I.L.O (Suspicious Individuals Lower Output) behaviour which gets you nowhere.
There are no individuals in this Supply Chain team. This is a team where the whole is far, far greater than the sum of the disparate roles. The Supply Chain team operates quietly and often out of the limelight but is an essential team for any business looking to perform well in the FMCG market.
Supply Chain Team
The team sheet assumes a classic 4 4 2 formation and shirt numbers that those of a certain age will recognise. Nowadays, a Premier League team sheet is reminiscent of a bingo card so this extended Supply Chain team will only have 1 substitute. (Now, if I was the manager I would forbid gloves except for the goalie, no thermal leggings and certainly no top knots!)
The Line up
Substitute
SKU Complexity Reduction – useful towards the end of the game to simplify and refocus the team on priorities.
Coach
KPIs – keeps a close track on team and individual performance. Knows where the weaknesses exists and addresses them constantly to raise the bar.
Perhaps you would like to suggest an alternative line-up? Who do you think should be in the extended Supply Chain starting eleven?
